Common questions

Proposal planning, answered.

How far ahead should I plan a proposal in Saint Lucia?

Photographers book out 4 to 8 weeks ahead in peak season (December to March) and 2 to 4 weeks at other times. Resort setups usually need 2 to 3 weeks, and a private catamaran 2 to 6 weeks. Start at least 8 to 12 weeks before your date.

How much does a proposal setup cost?

Typical figures from our guides: a private beach setup runs about $300 to $600 excluding wine and Champagne, a private catamaran at sunset about $600 to $1,000, a small boat in Marigot Bay about $200 to $350, and a proposal photographer about $300 to $500 for around two hours. The ring, flights and accommodation are extra. Prices change, so confirm with each vendor.

Do I have to stay at the resort to propose there?

For some settings, yes. Jade Mountain's sanctuary terrace is open to resort guests only, and resort setups are arranged through the resort. Some resorts allow non-guest beach dinners by prior arrangement. A private catamaran, Marigot Bay and Anse de Sable do not require a particular stay.

What if it rains on the day?

Plan a covered backup before you travel and agree a simple rule: if rain is expected within 30 minutes of setup, switch to the backup. Ask someone else, such as the resort concierge, to make that call, and brief your photographer on both locations.

What is the best time of year to propose in Saint Lucia?

January to April has the lowest rain risk, and March is often the best month. From June to November a covered backup is essential, and August and September carry the highest weather and hurricane risk, so avoid an outdoor-only plan.

Is the plan builder really free?

Yes. Luxe Amour Getaways is an independent guide. We may earn a commission if you book through links on this site, at no extra cost to you, and that never changes which settings we suggest.
